Mimmo Cafiero

Mimmo Cafiero has been arranging and composing for several years, dedicating his projects to Sicily, exploring themes of love and sacrifice that balance tenderness and bitterness. The music found in his CDs “Triangles” (1996), “Plays Sicilian Songs” (2001), and “Vitti ‘na Strada” (2008) reflects this: one can sense the inexhaustible, dizzying, and profound passion for life and music, along with the effort to change things, perhaps simply through a song.
The uniqueness of his music lies in the presentation of simple melodies through rhythmic and polyrhythmic play, from which captivating atmospheres emerge, offering listeners constantly unpredictable moments rich in Mediterranean influences, while still respecting traditions in the search for new languages.
